We recently took a look at the way media campaigns are encouraging people to change their lives. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we thought we would pull together a few quick campaign ideas which will make people fall in love with your brand.
Last year, Kantar Media reported that, for the 12 weeks prior to the end of February in 2016, overall sales increased by 0.5% compared with the year before. Chocolate sales were up by 13%, sales of cut flowers increased by 7%, and sparkling wine sales were up by 15%.
Whether you’re looking for a quick sales boost or simply want customers to fall in love with your brand again, we’ve outlined some super quick campaign suggestions which will be easy for you to implement.
Start conversations with your social media followers
Encourage people to share stories of how they met their partners, the best Valentine’s present they have ever received or even stories of disastrous dates and gruesome gifts. Don’t forget to share your stories too as this will allow your personality to shine through.
Turn conversations into a competition
Everyone loves a freebie, so why not turn your social media conversations into a social media giveaway? You could put together a selection of your products for the person with the most embarrassing Valentine’s date story. Remember to ensure that your prize fits with your brand, if you don’t have any Valentine’s themed products, offer something which incorporates your corporate colours or represents your business in some way.
Give people a helping hand
Scroll through your social media feed and chances are, you’ll see posts asking for various pieces of information. A simple search on Twitter could identify people searching for the perfect Valentine’s gift for their loved ones from here, engage them in conversation, identify whether they’re a potential customer (i.e are they in the same country and could you supply your product or service to them?) then offer your advice and suggest a gift that they are sure to love. Whether or not you recommend your own product or service, you will position your brand as friendly, approachable and helpful.
Send a card
While a Valentine’s Day campaign can result in new customers, you shouldn’t forget your existing client base, after all, they’re already engaged and aware of your brand - that’s usually half of the battle! Why not send a Valentine’s Day card in the form of an e-zine to thank them for their custom. You could even include a discount code for them to use the next time they use your site or service.
Segment your audience
If you have a healthy customer database, why not split it into segments based on relevant parameters for example gender, age, interests, previous purchases, and target each segment with a particular range of products or services based on what they are interested in.
